Brazil: The Man

I was interested in your take on this photo. It was widely published in photo-of-the-day, and pics-of-the-week slideshows. By the caption, it’s a preview of the security being put in place for the World Cup and Olympics. It seems, though, that it’s either doing either a lot less or a lot more. How do you read it?

We’re looking at the vehicle and the soldier inside it looking out, with either a window and light or an actual light behind him. Everything else is a reflection of what’s behind the camera.

Hard not to think of Big Brother (or of the movie “Brazil”)… No idea what to make of it, though. Praciticing their militance?

Security at the Olympics? What could go wrong, it’s not like it’s being held in Atlanta or Munich.
