OKC Tornado Photos: Iwo Jima

    I was also struck by some of the verbal commentary, which not only repeats the trope of the scene looking like a war zone (whereas we could better, after Azoulay, call a war zone a regime made disaster), but also enfolds the ‘community’ response in patriotism (note how the discourse of social solidarity is reserved for such states of exception – the rest of the time it’s market competition)
