If you hang around long enough…

Remember when Obama, derided as a celebrity, was captured by paparazzi in the islands with his shirt off? Remember when the haters were framing the Hawaiian heritage as evidence of Obama the foreigner, the other? Remember all the chatter about golf time? Not only has much of that noise dissipated, but after Sandy, the election, Sandy Hook and the cliff, it’s hard to begrudge the President a dip in paradise.

    This shot reminds me of Jon Voight swimming out to sea at the end of Coming Home. Jon Voight reminds me of Deliverance which reminds me of this image where Voight can be seen allegorically as the American public at the mercy of House Republicans.

    This is a very weird photo. It looks as if Obama’s head has been put
    on the body of someone else; it just sort of sits there on top of the
    wave/splash. In a way, it seems just as awkward as the last photo of him in the
    water that the Bag published.
