Best Photos of 2012 and Why: Yes, In Our Backyard

During the holiday break, Bag is noting the notable: the most interesting shots in the many 2012 Picture of the Year galleries. The  photo in this post came from the Associated Press Picture of the Year collection.

Small price to pay for all the economic stimulus delivered by the defense industry centered around DC?

What the photo says to me is how captive we are to endless war, a picture like this hardly rising above a voyeuristic human interest snapshot in a “picture of the year” gallery. Just don’t tell me this happened after a “routine” stadium flyover or a gig at an air show.
