Stacie Laughton: One of Many Firsts

I like this photo of Stacie Laughton, a Nashua community activist and the first transgender woman to be elected to the New Hampshire House of Representatives. Women candidates have brought about many firsts in New Hampshire electoral history and, like all women running for office, how they look matters. Yet no one is looking at Laughton in this photo. And she won.
