I Had a Sad Thought about TIME's Reversible "Election Final" Cover

I had a sad thought about TIME’s reversible “election final” cover.

As a last word culminating an exhaustive and consuming multi-year process, what this cover suggests — especially with the notations in the center — is that Campaign ’12 turned out to be more about the horserace; about data such as how much the SuperPACS raised and spent; and ultimately, about polling and about what Gallup and Nate Silver  had to say, more than any of the critical issues facing our nation.

…And, to the extent that’s true, the cover is brilliant.
