With advise and speculation running rampant regarding the first presidential debate on Wednesday, it seems there are two key demographics to keep in mind. The Obama campaign narrative mentions women and auto workers so often (not to mention, women auto workers), it almost seemed the campaign has inside bets in a drinking game. As we continue to sift through images for our Salon at Columbia on the 10th, this is another photo we’ve been thinking about. Taken at the RNC, it captures a Republican woman who — if “proper,” traditional, colorful, and “in line” — is getting squeeze by her male counterparts.
Boxed it? A wedge issue? There are plenty of metaphors that spring to mind.
