Tell Stench I’m Having Finger Sandwiches with Peggy Noonan…

Here’s the quote from Politico that was all the buzz yesterday (1, 2, 3), accompanied by some of the more “fitting” images. Roger Simon later admitted the article was “satire.”

Though Ryan had already decided to distance himself from the floundering Romney campaign, he now feels totally uninhibited. Reportedly, he has been marching around his campaign bus, saying things like, “If Stench calls, take a message” and “Tell Stench I’m having finger sandwiches with Peggy Noonan and will text him later.”

Roger Simon later admitted the article was “satire.”

The take-away here is the danger of reading too much into a picture. On the other hand, as Simon told the New York Times yesterday, “Satire has been called ‘the lie that tells the truth,’ and that is why people react so strongly to it …”
