You think Todd Akin isn’t one provocative dude?

After Chick-fil-A’s fundamentalist CEO went all in against gay marriage, Senate candidate Akin didn’t just show up earlier this month at this Liberty, MO. outlet for a sandwich and a little solidarity, he actually played host, waiter and manager. Having chalked up his “legitimate rape” bomb to having misspoken, these photos suggest perhaps a different agenda — showing a guy (with the Senate, and all that power in his sights) determined to push the culture war envelope.

Here’s the whole photo album from Akin’s FB site.

People are dying to take sides in the culture war. Whenever I hear of an egregious act or policy or statement that I think all people everywhere would instantly condemn.. I go on Facebook and the same people (a few of my FB friends are righties) are right there defending the egregious act.

It is unbelievably predictable. Once you’re on a side, it seems that all of that side’s beliefs are 100% in line with your beliefs.

This guy is totally going to be a Chick-fil-a dude. NO surprise there. I bet he’s an NRA nut, too. I bet he’s anti-muslim, pro Bush, anti-tax, anti-medicare, anti-gay rights, pro military (but anti Veterans care), anti separation of church and state, pro Iraq intervention but anti Lebanon intervention, pro oil pipeline, anti solar rebates, pro bailouts when Bush did them and anti bailouts when Obama did them, a climate change denier, and creationist.

If someone wants to score my list, that would be awesome. I bet I’m 95+% correct. Once in a while there is a surprise, like when they are personally involved in something, they are a vet themselves (like McCain) or have a gay daughter (like Cheney). Then they support Vets or are “soft” on the gay rights issue. Other than that.. they tow the line.

Akin knows exactly what he’s doing: he’s betting that more than half of the people who vote in the Show-Me state of MO (or as I like to type: MOO) are those who swallow his right-wing, misogynist, phony Christianist agenda just as he spits it out. He’s all of those things that Gasho assumes he is. What he doesn’t realize is that he’s energized many of us on the other side and we are going to mobilize the vote against him.

Isn’t the GOP platform closer to Akin’s position than to Romney’s. Does Romney even have a position? Today Romney told Akin to take a hike and Akin told Romney to go away. Who won that interaction?

I see that God is sending tropical storm Isaac to punish the GOP for that skinny-dipping in the Sea of Galilee.
