Who’s Who Isn’t

Pretty smart. Not only does the cover amplify the impact of the Occupy movement in shifting focus to the (politically disenfranchised) 99% , it also satirizes political celebrity and the media’s cult of personality.

Fabulous, fabulous concept, but who’s the guy with the microphone bottom right?

  • Oops

I was so used to seeing the all-too-standard version of the story that I read the cover as “The 100 Most Powerful New Yorkers.” Didn’t catch on until I clicked through.

Tears to my eyes just for the concept.  The woman’s face framed by “New York” is reminds me of Howard Zinn although she obviously has her own character too.  Looking at those faces, they remind me of many people I have known or met.  Good for the Village Voice.
