S. Carolina Final: Raising Cain

Colbert Cain 1

Colbert Cain 2

“Sign up to be a member of this army of Davids,” he declared, as he urged people to visit his cainconnections.com website.

Salt-and-pepper!

Best part is the poster, a hyperbolic ticket of way-visionary faux reactionaries. The funny thing is, Cain is so narcissistic he’s actually beyond getting played by Colbert. Call it par for the course in this you’re-never-dead GOP campaign. Now, where’s that sexual harassment update?

I admired Colbert’s appearance at the Press Dinner where he stuck it to Bush, but I have never, ever laughed at one of his jokes.  I don’t find him funny, and I don’t find his South Carolina antics amusing.   After Jon Stewar’ts monologue, I turn off the Daily Show.  So sue me.

Well, I don’t watch the report, I always think it isn’t that funny because it isn’t really much of a joke. Republicans ARE like that nowadays. And he was funnier when he was still at the Daily Show doing the religious news.

I do think his speech at the WH Correspondent’s Dinner should be a requirement to watch for everyone voting in an election. And it is still one of the most ballsy things I’ve ever seen. Plus funny as hell, to boot.

Just curious – is Cain on the South Carolina ballot? Can voters actually vote for him, without writing him in? Too funny!

    • Anonymous

Yes. As Colbert said, “I can’t get on the ballot, and Cain can’t get off.” A vote for Cain, they say, is a vote for Colbert.

    How did C(olber(t))ain do, anyway?

If Colbert’s skewering of the whole Super Pac idiocy by showing just what sort of foolishness is allowable by their various creations is not *pure* genius, then I don’t know what is.

    Buddha bless you, Stephen.

P.S. The man’s total surgical smackdown of Shrub at the Press Club? Roast with Shrub practically within arm’s reach qualifies him for Mt. Rushmore (Colbert, *not* Shrubya) even if he never did another thing in his lifetime.

And I watch the Report from Australia, where I often find him funnier than Stewart. Frankly, I’m ready to give up on the real news and just get it from them, because US politics ARE like that these days. laugh to not cry.
