Mr. Palmetto Head

Romney Palmetto Head

Not sure you saw our two Tumblr posts on how hard it is to get a good pic of Romney — this and this by Jim Wilson who seems to be managing it.

I’m not sure if it’s out of frustration, boredom (because this campaign, which never took root, is as interesting as tree rot), the sheer incongruity of Romney as the GOP’s top coconut in a state like S. Carolina, or it’s just the instinct to crown Romney now and be done with it, but I expect we’re going to see a lot more of this kind of thing.

Republican presidential contenders brought buckets of cash and sharp rhetoric to South Carolina on Wednesday for an intense 10-day battle that may determine whether anyone can stop front-runner Romney’s march to the party’s nomination. The South Carolina Primary will be held on January 21.)

Was there ever a more appropriate “thought bubble”?

I was struck by the other faces we see in the picture, one on left and two on right.  The one on the left is young and distracted.  The two on the right are Romney believers but the look of the one behind the sign is a bit intense.

Has Mitt had any nips and tucks done?  He may have better luck moving his aspirations to Hollywood.

I think this is just bad photography. It’s funny, absolutely. But my guess is that out of the massive amount of photos taken by Mr. Wilson, this was a lucky mistake. But that doesn’t mean he intended it the way it came out. Too much credit given for a quick snap. And before everyone goes all ballistic on me, I’m NOT a Romney supporter or a republican shill. I mean after all, haven’t you heard? Mitt speaks French.
