Iowa: Is It Over Yet?

1a. Ludicrous on its face#mce_temp_url#.  1b. Maybe Newt is in it to win. 1c. Hillary okay, but don’t bring up Muskie.

2a. And the punchline is: “after three days, the Texans walked out!” 2b. This wouldn’t be about Perry’s brain freeze during that debate, would it??? 2c. If there’s any subtlety here, it’s how the hand scribble sums up Perry as Palin-in-boots.

3. I get it. There’s a time delay. Still, this snarky shot by Getty’s Scott Olson also speaks to the inflation of these candidates and the circus.

(screenshot 1: CBSillustration 2: Texas Monthly photo 3: Scott Olson/Getty Images caption: Republican presidential candidate former U.S. Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA) speaks at a town hall meeting as it is being broadcast on C-SPAN December 30, 2011 in Marshalltown, Iowa. More like, “Are we there yet?” as in haven’t we reached the place where we get tired of all this B.S. I like to call the sad collection of so called “candidates” the Children of the iD, the living embodiment of America’s unstructured and unthinking collective mind. Only such a place could vomit forth such men and women and believe that they are worth noticing.

Hah! I guess as long as we notice them, they are worth noticing.

Yeesh. I watched Rachel Maddow and Chris O’Donnell on MSNBC last night. Both shows were completely obsessed with the Republican race in Iowa. At the end of her show, Maddow said, “Coverage of the Iowa Caucus will begin tomorrow night at 6.” My thought: didn’t we just cover it to death? I’m done. The thought that this is just the first step, and that all this crap will go on until November, when it’ll switch to predicting the 2016 race, is beyond depressing.

    Who advised Santorum sartorially?
