Obama Through Bono’s Glasses

Mandel Ngan/AFP/Getty Images

If closer scrutiny of the President on conscience and social justice issues makes a lot of people uncomfortable, this photo of Obama — reflected in Bono’s glasses on World AIDS day — captures that discomfort, and how unclear it is where this moral but even more tactical politician is exactly coming from on AIDS, Gitmo, Occupy, etc.
