The Picture from Iowa, 2012: Comic Relief –Team Newt Laying Eagle Eggs

With all the bad stuff in the air right down, we thought you could use a more featherweight look at the Iowa scramble as we count down to Saturday’s Ames Straw Poll. The Gingrich couple having descended into self-parody, notice how Callista, the “alpha bird” in the relationship, looks a lot less like a Newt clone now than she does the Team United mascot — just a weird coincidence, or a graphic designer’s revenge? — and (in her dreams) America’s national good luck charm.

‘Nuff said.
