Happy Birthday, Mr. Pres-i-dent

Obama Jennifer Hudson Birthday Song

Surely I wasn’t the only one thinking the pic of Jennifer Hudson singing Happy Birthday to Obama had a Marilyn vibe, was I?

Not that I think Obama is anything but a straight-arrow, but with the not-so-obscure allusion to that historic sexual charge, on top of the $38,500 a plate hoop-de-doo, on the heels of having just signed off on a 50% cut in discretionary spending (guaranteeing not a whole lot of stimulation is gonna be happening anywhere else), and the “jobs pivot” can wait one more day.

    I don’t know who Rihanna or Jennifer Hudson is.   I also have no idea WTF Obama has been doing the past year or so.   Iraq, Afghanistan, *Libya*, capitulating to the Cantorites … I’m getting a real Lyndon B. Johnson vibe, and not a good one.   it’s been decades since I felt such antipathy towards both parties.

    Onstage with a Chicago politician who seems to be presenting you with the gift of female entertainment (I won’t go so far as to say companionship) seems like oldschool sleaze – or mafia style living.

    And, Michael, you couldn’t be more right about how wrong the timing is on this.. he should be at home licking his wounds, writing apology letters and eating ramen noodles right now.

    It seems Obama’s Presidency has been punctuated by a series of events involving unfortunate timing. This is another one of those.

    Not really an analysis of the pic, but man has Ms. Hudson gotten skinny.

    Anyway, at least she’s dressed better than Marilyn was…..part of the scandal of the old version was Marilyn’s second-skin dress, was it not?
