New Yorker Cover Moral Guidance McCall

Does the New Yorker cover capture the collision between today’s anti-government mood and the health movement, or just a little natural resistance to a growing trend?  (If it’s the later, though, somebody please tell Coca-Cola.)

I wonder why the “444″ address is circled by the New Yorker logo.

The number “444″ is a veiled reference to the number “777″ which represents Golgotha, the place where Jesus was crucified.  The Temple Mount is 741 meters above sea level, and Golgotha is 777 meters above sea level.  The three figures appear to be crucified in much the same manner as the way Jesus was crucified between two thieves.  Note also that “666″ is Satan’s number, and again a veiled reference to the Rapture which did not occur on May 21st.  If Obama votes against Israel in September, it will trigger Satan’s rapture.

The open book(s) in the windows suggest Scriptural foundation for these predictions. Note also the ghostly figures in the windows at the right.  There is also some confusion where the light is coming from – either in front, as suggested by the shadows cast by the crucified figures, or from the side, as suggested by the other shadows – the other figures, and the mailbox.  It suggests the crucified figures are illuminated by something as bright as the Sun.

The brass plate under the K of the logo suggests a mission of some foreign country,  or perhaps in a larger sense, a “mission”.  I’m not sure of the significance of the red lanterns.  In Catholic churches, they signify the Real Presence of Jesus.  Is the central figure, the blond woman in the pantsuit under the word “salt” perhaps Hillary Clinton?
