Wow! Does he know he just jumped out of an airplane?
Marie
First time I’ve ever seen or heard of a dog jumping out of a plane. Pretty impressive.
Interesting that the dog is muzzled. And his pack is in a non-camo color. And it makes me wonder how/who pulls the cord. By remote?

When I think about the amount of effort it took to convince my dog that jumping in and out of the car wouldn’t kill her….yeah, it’s really impressive

Marie, they’re jumping into water 3m down, it’s not a parachute jump. If it were, the human would be in big trouble, he’s wearing a flotation vest, not a parachute!

Geronimo!!!! (Those of a certain age will have parallel connotative connections.)
A dog is a near perfect soldier — smart, observant, athletic, and obedient.

Funny, Geronimo was the code name used for Bin Laden. And the human isn’t wearing a pack, either. It looks to me like they’re jumping out of a helicopter over rather calm water.

Irrelevant Detail I Noticed:
The soldier is wearing “barefoot”shoes. This falls in line with the military non-policy of allowing uniform deviations to the more oddball service assignments, like submariners, fighter pilots and special ops guys.

if they’re like point/patrol dogs in VietNam, one dog/one handler…non-transferable and not negotiable: back then, when the man finished his service, the animal would be sacrificed. Sooo…now, if the Sgt. can’t take his pup home, ‘What falls out will generally re-up.’

More like the jumper will put some flippers on to swim or that regular shoes would make it harder for him/her to swim, as they are heavy (I tried swimming with full uniform and boots, a good recipe for a quick drowning).
