Primal Scream

The hand of vengence from the plume became that much more evident yesterday via  the lens of AP’s Charlie Riedel.

Maybe this “slow-motion” disaster is payback for living in this “instant” culture we’ve created for ourselves, working ever-so-much-on-it’s-own-time, revealing itself as a picture would materialize, yes, that slowly, after taking a Polaroid back-in-the-day.

What does it take for us to get it? For the public, for the government, for industry to get that we live in an ecosystem? That we’re truly interdependent? That to live is to profit — not the other way around?

What it takes, and I take my hat off to Charlie for it — even as I choke over the sight — is to simply open that window on living death.

Humans practice all kinds of horrifying atrocities on themselves, and yet we keep on going. Too bad Mother Earth didn’t get that memo. Once we have screwed everything up—water concerns, industrial global warming, uncaring business practices of greed to the ultimate degree on our natural resources—there will be a price paid. Hopefully a fundamental shift on how we relate to our home planet will be the result; or perhaps Mother Earth will just shrug and extinct our asses, leaving the surviving species a recovering paradise.

What have human being done on this earth to justify the suffering we have inflicted on our fellow creatures and the earth itself?

“The LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

And the LORD was sorry that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart.” Genesis 6:6-7

    At the moment of explosion,
    The freedom was killed,
    The beauty perverted,
The victims isolated died in silent cries,
    in quantities giant, yet hidden.
    The guilty left unpunished,
    the victims punished with fierceness.
Tell me how long does the anger last?
Till the last gasp of air?
Or is it just a wonderment
at the injustices of the humankind?

What the picture represents to me is the last stand to defy!

    Their only crime was
    To live unfettered.
    Free on the water,
    Soaring in the air,
    Unprotected from those
    Who would deny and
    Dement. Destroy. Damn.
    Deaden. Debase. Discard.
