The message from the White House Flickr Stream in these back-to-back photos posted last week, and setting the table for the “health care summit” on Thursday? Washington is broken. It’s depressing as hell. The Republicans? You just can’t deal with these people.

(And Boehner’s rebuttal.)

Boehner (R-Ohio) gesture while Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Cal.) and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) look on during a meeting of bipartisan leaders of the House and Senate to discuss working together on issues surrounding the economy and jobs in the Cabinet Room of the White House, Feb. 10, 2010.)

after the postures can’t be sustained you get the gestures reflecting the empty rhetoric come home to roost…

The funny thing is, I keep remembering that fake reporter – Guckert? – here was his question to Bush – “How are you going to work – you’ve said you are going to reach out to these people – how are you going to work with people who seem to have divorced themselves from reality?[”
The question sounds pretty appropriate today, regarding Obama and the Repubs, doesn’t it?

In the top photo Benjamin Franklin looking on seems so angry the he is about to burst out of his little alcove and start smacking people in the head. Or could that be me just projecting my own feelings on old Ben?
