Goodbye, Dobbs … For a Minute

Daylife offers this Lou Dobbs photo tonight, showing the former CNN race-baiter being escorted through the crowd at NY’s MLK holiday march in ‘08. I don’t know whether Lou interjected himself into the march, or maybe he was just crossing the street to his office.

Either way, the posture seem characteristic. Sporting the trademark flag pin, his loosened tie reading “working stiff,” and with a megaphone aligned with his temple, Dobbs — as he so often fancies it — is flanked by law enforcement while wincing past ethnic protesters, the cop’s outstretched hand forming a barrier between Lou and reality-on-the-ground (Stop Racism!) further enabling that pompous air of superiority with a look that could, as much, convey “you people don’t exist to me” as “I’ll have a new gig by tomorrow.”

Always a need for a douche bag…on teevee that is.

Dobbs overestimates himself. He’s become a cranky old dude chasing kids off his lawn, who mutters to himself a lot. It doesn’t make a difference if he actually does this; it’s certainly the image he projects.
In Dobbs’ ungracious valedictory to CNN, he made it sound like he was going off to where a guy with his moral fortitude will be appreciated. It wasn’t simply that he annoyed CNN viewers with his flinty attitudes towards foreigners, but he also adopted the birther nuttiness. The network waited for an opportune time to rein him in, and he resisted. Lou Dobbs is not an old soldier like MacArthur; he’s just an old grump who went dotty.

So I assume he’s going to Fox News?

I think Dobbs will run for president as an Independent. His viewers have begged him to for years. My worst nightmare. Dobbs in the WH.

Now if they would just get rid of Nancy Grace, I might be able to actually watch CNN again….

I removed CNN Headline News from my TV when Where’s Caylee became unbearable. Tired of the missing white women and children show.

They’re going to have to do something about Wolf Blitzer, too. If not dump him, then at least sedate him…

that is a great photo, the loudspeaker-brain connect is fun.
looks like he was there to get some choice sound bites to distort..
why does anyone listen to old jerks who spout for a living?.. cool old people with wisdom need it coaxed out of them. crazy coots have talk shows…
the day faux hired turdblossom they proved what they were once and for all.. this clown is definitely headed there.. there is no other way but down for him.
those ladies look so nice to me. especially lady #2.. just the faintest sign of displeasure maybe, but she’s also meeting a TV celebrity.. she’s torn….
