The basic tone and message of the Gay Rights March in DC today (1, 2)?

Simply, it’s way beyond time for being forthright.

Commenting on Shaw’s second tweet, the afterthought is noted, but to me that was just a case of not having enough room to finish the Elvis Presley song. Although I did pick up on the number of people whose heads were down looking at their cell phones or holding a sign but turning their heads to have a conversation with someone next to them. It was such a stark difference from the G-20 rally I documented in Pittsburgh a few weeks ago. Those crowds were rowdy and demanding, yet in my opinion, they did not have a strong enough foundation to justify their rants and raves unlike the LGBT community who has every reason to be advocating change. So their nonchalance does strike me as, well, queer.
