The Enemy Of My Enemy

Obama Powell.jpg

I was just checking the new additions to the White House Flickr stream.

Given the abuse they’ve been taking from the former Veep (as well as the premium placed on bipartisanship), you might title this one: “Dick, eat your heart out.”

Watched the Brian Williams thing tonight which greatly influenced how I saw this image. Another brief meeting in a tightly structured day, and there’s those apples that they apparently don’t eat. The TV show moved me despite itself.

No redemption for Powell. Not after his speech to the United Nations. Many thousands of people died in that silly war he sold with his lies. Under the circumstances, an apology is really not too much to ask for, is it? Yes, he expressed some regrets, but that’s like saying “Mistakes were made.”

    Co-sign.
He’s teflon Powell = drives me nuts. He’s been up to his eyebrows in both of the major military abuse scandals in my lifetime – My Lai and now this.
On the other hand, it’s rather nice to see Cheney backing down somewhat now and admitting there was no connection between Iraq and 9-11. Let’s seem how many times now has he had to admit that and still he comes out months later making the same claim?

Can you spot the bad apples in the picture?
