Anchor’s A Sway

A few days ago, I warned of the Administration starting to visually mimic the militarist BushCo. out of concern for its image on national security and the Afghan war.

What’s notable here — in this Navy photo taken aboard the U.S.S. Ronald Reagan on Thursday — is its resonance with the iconic “Mission Accomplished” photo. If it’s a poor comparison on political grounds, I wouldn’t look for an “above deck” Obama photo-op anytime soon. I would, however, expect more images like this one (see caption) from both POTUS and VPOTUS.
