Throwback

Bush Opening Day.jpg

Still with the soldiers, the weaponry, the flag, the fresh start, the big pitch ….

(image: Jessica Rinaldi/Reuters. caption: Former U.S. President George W. Bush throws out the ceremonial first pitch before the start of American League MLB baseball action between the Texas Rangers and the Cleveland Indians in Arlington, Texas April 6, 2009)

And he still throws like a girl.
There is nothing he can do right. Nothing.

  • Peter Calvin

A lot could be said about him throwing from in front of the mound, rather than from the rubber, not throwing the full 60′ 6″ to the plate.

  • bystander

    I prefer this one.
[Sorry, still haven't taken the time to work through the photobucket protocols.]

me too, and I admired his determination when he asked for a second throw – now thats class, something that other guy never had

  • timolo

    Who cares.
He was a ceremonial owner and pResident.
The less we see him the better.

  • Gasho

This is symbolic of the ABSOLUTE FAILURE of our democracy in bringing this bastard to justice. He’s responsible for the deaths of so many people – he LIED TO GO TO WAR. He is a WAR CRIMINAL.
I can’t stand the fact that he can breathe the air and see the sky and walk around free, let alone play with his balls in public.

Yeah, I can do without seeing Dubya (who’s born in the Northeast, and went to school at Yale) throwing the first pitch. Where is Bobby Brown???!?!
    -Ed.

remember when in the aftermath of 9/11, chris matthews hailed bush for his bravery for merely showing up to a baseball game? talk about the soft bigotry of low expectations.

  • thomas

Yep. I still hate him. With a nearly overwhelming intensity. Probably always will. One has to hope for justice in the afterlife because there sure isn’t any here on this earth.

  • Rima

So Bush was in a ballpark filled with thousands of people – and nobody flung a shoe at him?!

  • rapier

I wonder if Obama will throw out the first pitch at the Nationals opener on Monday. Bush skipped the last two years. Without question out of worry about the boos. On that score alone Obama would be insane not to show up. Admittedly I don’t know if this sort of ceremony for the president is usually an opening day sort of thing. The Nationals opened on the road and the season will be a week old on Monday.
It should be noted that Bush’s Texas Rangers were ground zero for steroids in MLB.

    He looks old.

  • Gasho

for some reason, I can’t leave this post alone.. I keep coming back to check it, hoping that there will be more and more posts by those who share my distain for this evil man and curse the sight of him moving freely about without shackles and and an orange jumpsuit.
Have I just gone completely insane — or does the world really actually just not care about mass murder anymore?

  • http://www.doves2day.blogspot.com g

Yeah, and another jacket with his name embroidered on it. He must have quite a collection by now.
    Fucking loser.

  • Jonathan

Gasho, I have the same opinion about him, and I’m positive most people reading this do too. For what it’s worth,
I usually look at this website in a cooler, more analytical mood than other politcal blogs.
…But I know how you feel!

Dubya recently visited the most conservative city (Calgary) and province (Alberta)in Canada. The flack he received was limited, but well covered by the MSM. In British Columbia, Quebec or Ontario he would have drawn vastly greater numbers of protesters demanding justice for his criminal behavior.
‘Protesters cry ‘war criminal’ as Bush delivers Calgary speech’
In a letter to the RCMP war crimes section and copied to Prime Minister Stephen Harper, Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff and other federal ministers and opposition MPs, the Lawyers Against the War group claimed that Bush is “inadmissible to Canada … because of overwhelming evidence that he has committed, outside Canada, torture and other offences” as detailed in Canada’s War Crimes Act.
