Refusing To Move For Darfur
On it’s face, it’s a laudable expression of conscience we’re witnessing here. The photo documents U.S. Rep. John Lewis, the lifelong civil rights activist, and Rep. Jim McGovern being arrested for refusing to move from the entrance of the Sudanese embassy in D.C. on Monday.
On the other hand — with McGovern’s pocket turned inside out to show he’s got nothing — the image raises the question of how much leadership the Congress and the White House have been, and could be exercising on the issue.

Hypocrites, all of them.
Take a stand outside the Israel lobby and let the accusations of anti-semitisim fly and let them lose the next elections.
Oh wait, why should they try to be even handed in the ME conflict? Israel’s the only democracy in the ME who still thinks that the era of colonialism isn’t over.

The sad sack suit with one cop openly laughing while the other suppresses a giggle.
