Just One President

This picture reminds me of OJ’s glove… But in this case it looks like that glove fits pretty well.

That’s a kind of creepy look on Bush’s face.

Bush looks like an old man in anguish admitting to his successor that he just couldn’t do the job. Now he’ll watch from the terrace.

Bush looked to me like he was clinging to Obama in the same way we all are – embroiled in messes way over our heads and looking for a parent who will rescue us.
Fortunately, only a few minutes earlier, dad had rather sternly reminded us that we are the only people who can get ourselves out of the messes, and it’s time for us to buck up and get on about it.
Here’s hoping the little boy who made the messes will stay out of the entire affair from now on, so that we can.

I think W. is still in denial/delusion. It didn’t strike me as any admission he couldn’t do the job. He thinks he is “passing the torch” to his “worthy adversary-now comrade.”

    So long, sucka!

Please oh please oh please don’t send me to the Hague. Look, I’ve got gray hair now and wrinkles and no color in my face except for my nose.

he wears the pained expression of a judas, who realized too late the horror of betraying his country for a few coins.

Bush looks as if he’s clinging to Obama. He wants to be comforted, but the anguish on his face says that the approval he’s looking for is not there.

Bush looks worse by the day. I wish it were because he realized how horribly his administration did, but I think it’s more likely he’s bitter and anxious about relinquishing all that power he once had. I don’t see any emotion in his eyes. I see the snake that has been forced to slither from its hole by a new tenant. Now he will go somewhere to die, because it’s all downhill for him from here.

“I SEE a knife..deranged old white guy WITH a KNIFE, all over the PRESIDENT”

  • last official phony act

That’s his standard sacerdotal hand on the back for the holy-roller audience. Like it’s his place to bless his replacement.

  • Sergei Andropov

I just realized that this is the same face he had as he turned away from the podium after his last public address. I was really struck by that look at the time; it was like he was, in some way, becoming his father.

  • Neal Deesit

I see Bush looking at his watch, seeing exactly how many minutes since he ceased being president. He knows his time is up. Though he will not say it, he knows all the mistakes he’s made on his watch. Despite what he may say about the judgment of history, I think he knows that neither time nor Obama will be his ally.
