U.S.A.! U.S.A.!

I find this particularly moving, profoundly absorbing and quite sad. It’s Danny Wilcox Frazier’s shot of the stage after McCain’s election night rally at the Biltmore in Phoenix.

Thank you for the striking image. It could also represent the closed door policy of the Bush administration. Also, the hidden agendas of any governing body, or the unknown future that awaits us – especially in light of our heightened expectations of this new Obama era.
It is poignant, yes, in reference to McCain and his loss, but, to be realistic, poignant, indeed, when it stands for the hidden history of the forces that shape our time. We can surmise but not visualize, but even if represented without a screen, we are challenged continually – as your site represents the challenge – to be acute and perceptive enough to read the images that are intended to condition us.

The color, design, and single star are evocative also of the Admiral’s rank that McCain did not achieve during his naval career, a failure that may still cause regret for the son and grandson of Admirals. Neither flag status nor presidential rank. A telling image of a lost star.

First thing that came to mind was a quote from Shakespeare’s “Tempest”
Our revels now are ended. These our actors,
As I foretold you, were all spirits and
Are melted into air, into thin air:

Congratulations to Cyril for setting up the audio system.
To Sarah Palin I proudly bequeath this one star banner, a small
memento for her inspiring ’shock and awe” effort in our campaign !
Finally will all of you, rise and put your hands together for a man
we will never forget, JOE THE PLUMBER ! and God Bless America.

Socialism wants to level the finical playing field for the poor by taxing the wealth and giving to the poor thereby creating a welfare state. See the cycle?
Capitalism wants to level the finical playing field for the poor by stimulating wealth to create jobs and opportunity which will provide a path to wealth. See the cycle?

Two things that I noticed instantly:
    1) The workmanship of the stage was shoddy, thrown together, not befitting a presidential candidate. This almost mirrors how the McCain campaign was run.
2)No last names. No ID. I don’t know what that means yet.

    What’s “finical”?
Kidding, I know he means “financial.”
Theodore, the capitalism vs. socialism conflict is SO 20th century! That’s why the McCain/Palin socialism attacks never caught on, and never prevented Americans from voting for Obama.
Right now the real problem we are dealing with is the tendency of both corporations and countries to combine the worst aspects of both systems by socializing risks and losses, while privatizing benefits. Any ideas?
