Bushcolbert

That was then.

This is now.

Can’t say what this means for Colbert’s career, but what the pictures testify to is a lot less antagonism in Washington. (At least through the honeymoon.)

You should listen to the roast. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/11/15/rahm-emanuel-roasts-steph_n_144081.html
They will both do fine. I especially like
We’re frightened of Colbert, but we know that deep down, underneath the Republican character you see on TV, there’s still a good man, there’s still hope for him. It’s the same way we feel about Joe Lieberman.”

oh man, Rahm, the man-kisses a week after you were named Chief of Staff. Can’t these knuckleheads ever get serious and stay serious for more than a day? There is some important shiite going on in the real world that 99.44% of the rest of us inhabit.
(but that is a nice memory — when Colbert bitch-slapped bush in public – so boldly and fearlessly, in front of God, Laura and even Cheney. The new wikipedia definition of speaking truth to power. I would almost say that was a seminal turning point in American history. Pierced the facade, the phony presidential veil that shrub and rove had constructed.)
