The Politics Of Gustav

Bush Fema

I get it!  I get it!  I count 5 FEMA logos, 6 Homeland Security logos, two hyper-empathic facial gestures, the anti-Brownie, and and a golden big cap "response" forefront in Dubya’s head.

    Aren’t they cute?
BTW – Bush had 3 years to rebuild the levies, why didn’t he?

  • blanchedubois

    Is this his “do-over?”

  • kmc

Gustav is starting to remind me of Terri Schiavo.

  • mudkitty

Bush is trying to make this his “do over.” Note the furrowed brow. Furrowing his brow is what he thinks is the job of a president.

What a slacker. he hasn’t even rolled his sleeves up yet.

  • mj

Sad to think this is only because of the political backlash, not because its right or proper.

“I get it! I get it!”
Oh, you’re a mess! Love it.

Labels slapped on top of failure. Whitewash on rotted ruins.
I agree that the time for “concerned action” was in the past. Three years later, less than 20% of the protections are rebuilt. That means they were counting on no further hurricanes for over 15 years? That’s ridiculous.
I just can’t look at that man without my mind screaming, “FAILURE!!”.

Profligacy…’recklessly wasteful’…comes to mind when I see this man. All that wasted time that can’t be called back. His legacy is set, no matter the desperate spinning of the last 18 months.
