Washington Swill

Carville-Frist-CokeThe sad message of the all-too-chummy Carville/Frist/Coke Superbowl ad — as the screen shot indicates — is that, when the corporations are paying the tab, top consultants and legislators — from the left and the right — seem only too happy to fall into line and take a swig.

Follow on (1pm PST): In the links below, two front page NYT stories that appeared almost back-to-back last week — mostly overlooked, I’m sure, in the excitement of the horse race — have more to say about alignment.

I don’t know about you, but I was revolted by that advert. Mind you, Carville is a just another hot air bag. Frist as the nice guy? holy christ I just don’t know what to say about this. I mean, if you don’t know by now that your government is being run by these corporations, you never will.
Coke, the popoganda of a new generation.

Back during the Terri Schiavo carnival when Frist “diagnosed” Schiavo’s condition by watching a video, I thought he was whoring for votes.
Apparently, he just enjoys whoring in general.

WHen that commercial came on, I tried like mad to come up with Frist’s name to tell my SO who that was and I couldn’t remember it!
Either I am losing my memory or his influence has faded. I like to think it is the latter. (I hope.)
