Put Your Hand In The Hand Of The Man Who Stirred The Water

George-Bush-Cindy-Sheehan-1

(click for full size)

As obsessive as I am about sourcing and crediting, I honestly cannot remember where this came from or even when I found it.

What I do know is that I haven’t seen it around, and that I’ve been holding onto it to some time.  (As I start to downshift into the holiday, it’s possible you’re going to see more “eclectic” material popping out of The BAG — at least through Sunday.)

Anyway, with the level of polarization in the country still unremittingly high (even though the end of Bush is coming into view); and recalling how Cindy was on her way back to the ranch for Thanksgiving this time two years ago; and, this being the season, ostensively, of peace and goodwill; I thought you might appreciate this portrait suggesting, well… you tell me.

He just had to make himself the main subject of the photo… just had to…
Why is he always mugging for he camera. you hardly ever see any candid shots of the guy. He seems so aware of the lens. always.

    Shrub is kinda short.

Hubris — what are you talking about? I mean, I see a man who maybe is not the most sensitive person in the world, still ensconced in and immersed in the people around him, deigning to hold hands with a mere subject of his (in some sense), and so on. I mean, he entered the room a dip, was it likely that some photograph would somehow reveal him not to be a dip? So yeah, you “proved” he’s a dip, way to go. Given who GWB is, the photo is fine, reflects well on him. His policies? Another matter altogether.

The dead always mug for the camera, even if they are dead when they do it. “W” stands for Worst. I am pleased to be able to say that [with luck that is] I survived the worst presidency ever.
The decline began with Reagan [he was as much evidence as cause]. It [unless Guiliani wins] ends with Bush [who is both cause and evidence].

Book ended are two smiling women and a supportive son as dad pushed to the background appears to have just stepped out from behind a plant.
Bush wears his everyday duh face as Cindy is looking understandably distraught.
‘A War President’ grabs her hand for another perfect Photo Op thus framing himself *feeling another mothers loss* while his endlessly insane endeavor to free the world from all evil doers marches on.
    Pass the cranberries please.

    >I see a man who maybe is not the most sensitive person in the world.
I think the 2007 WebLog awards might still take a late entry for biggest understatement of this decade…
but seriously folks. Michael asked us to comment on the photo. I wrote what I saw. You, you decided to attack me and you botched it. What a dip.

Re the signature: Barack Obama, my junior senator, signed a 2005 reply letter with his first name. Eerily, it’s as “sketchy” as the one Bush used above.
