Cheney/Bush

Cheney-Oval-Office-1

A cheap shot?

How about, a timely reminder about who is really running the show — what with Cheney spearheading the “Bomb Iran” campaign.  Reuters telegraphs the point in the second line of the photo caption.

President Bush left the Oval Office early this morning on his way to Southern California to view the damage caused by wildfires. Vice President Dick Cheney was in the Oval Office as Mr. Bush left.

You don’t think, in previous presidencies, the subordinates would have been walked to the door as the President shut off the lights and headed out of town?

Not just that, BUT it is altogether likely that during a time of WAR the Commander in Chief would be in Washington while the Veep would be the emissary to visit “lesser” problems and situation.* BUT this is an indication, once again, that the war is something of a diversion for an administration (and a culture) in which war is increasingly normalized.
*Of course, this assumes that he President really is the President and the Veep really is the Veep … and not visa versa.

I got a rude chuckle out of Bush’s flaccid, limp hand as he walks away from the Oval Office power center. Point made.

This Veep is the undisputed Grandmaster of Mission creep.

Actually, no, the White House is still Very Inhabited when the president goes out of town. Most of those “subordinates” have offices in the West Wing, and there is an entire posse of civil servants including housekeepers and data processing and office folks who work there at least 5 days a week.

shrub deserves no respect and he receives none – that makes him infinitely more dangerous. He is liable to say and do anything.
He mentioned last week that he veto’s health care bills to prove that he is still relevant.
Extrapolate that out: He authorizes bombing Iran to prove that he is still relevant.
As far as the hands go, this has been noted quite often, his strange signature stride with the back of his hands facing outward and palms back. It appears very Neanderthal to me. Most normal humans would modify their posture when an oddity like this gets pointed out to them. Not shrub. I forget what it signifies, but it is not good.

Looks like Reed was on the ball that evening. It’s a great shot, except for the people in it. Cheney and who (Gates? Addington?) cooking up a nasty brew inside a warmly lit room while the putative president slinks off into the darkness, unnoticed, except by the camera lens. We know Cheney is awake since he’s standing, which means he’s dangerous. Visiting California’s fires is a good job for The W, since we all know nothing will be done no matter what he garbles.

    Hello
Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni said a few months ago in a series of closed discussions that in her opinion that *Iranian nuclear weapons do not pose an existential threat to Israel*, Haaretz magazine reveals in an article on Livni to be published Friday.
Livni also criticized the exaggerated use that Prime Minister Ehud Olmert is making of the issue of the Iranian bomb, claiming that he is attempting to *rally the public around him by playing on its most basic fears.* Last week, former Mossad chief Ephraim Halevy said similar things about Iran.

To me it says….Bush in the dark about Cheney’s administration operations. With the look on his face in that classroom on 9/11/2001, I believe he was in the dark about the real plans ‘they’ had for that day though he knew something was gonna happen. He was kept well out of the ‘loop’on the FULL scope of things and knew to stay there until he was told what to ‘do and say’. Afterwards he actually didn’t care as long as he remained the ‘prez’. In my opinion the (job) position of President of the United States for GWB was just something to do and gave a major boost to the egos of the entire Bush ……
