John, We Hardly Knew Ya (…Or Jane)

You know why I am so angry with Senator Leahy (who has decided to vote for confirmation  of John Roberts)?

Because he and his committee never provided us with enough of a sense of who Roberts is or what he believes, so that… when I see pictures of Roberts and his wife — who actively promotes a radical “pro-life” agenda –  I can’t help thinking that they might really be…

this close:

and this much in lockstep:

and, she could really have this kind of influence on (or concurrence with) him:

The fix is in here big time. The entire ADMIN is one great py-ops program. The talking heads, and most Americans, are clueless. A phrase that is not going to exactly win one friends and influence. But I think it is the truth.

You know, if I were to be honored with a lifetime appointment to the highest position in my profession I’d want it to be precisely because of my professional abilities and contributions. I’d want everyone to know exactly what I stood for and why.
And if they told me a condition of the appointment was bringing my family out for a round of (staged or real) public photoplay, I’d tell ‘em to fuck off.
    Just sayin’.

  • http://crazydaisy.us Kerstin

You bet she has that kind of influence. Absolutely. And no one had to urge her to engage in “public photoplay.” You kiddin’? This is a dream come true, a dream born from many nights of pillow talk.
I know how much influence I have on my husband. He asks me for my advice on work issues all the time. And I’m just a little stay at home mama. Imagine if I were his professional equal.

    Typical of Democrats…
As my good blogger friend Harry once said (paraphrasing here) – What is really upsetting about the Democrats is that there is always a handfull of sellouts to let stuff get through…
Not sure if the Democrats deserve any support anymore. I rather the party be complety destroyed at this point, since they really don’t do jack to represent me…

  • JamieQ

some dems have opposed Roberts. Most repubs stick by their party through think and thin – we need to do that too. roberts and his wife both a re radically pro-life, so all you breeders – if you dont want kids – better get snipped!

I’m so furious with Senator Leahy. I am from Vermont, and I feel that he really let me down with his vote of approval. His first comments after reading Roberts’ writings were negative. Why this switch? I really thought that the judicial nominations would turn out alright with Leahy on the comittee.

  • joshowitz

Well, Roberts said in his sworn testimony that he wouldn’t be swayed by his personal opinions (and that includes those he got from his wife). So, as Leahy is apparently saying, if he does base his judgements on his ideology and not the law he perjured himself, which I am guessing is a problem for the CJ of the SC.
Maybe not, though. Who knows these days?

  • bg

Oh, I am just pinning all of my hopes for the future on the “truth” of John Roberts.
Every time I think about it, I feel sick.

listen, that guy is straight up psycho! are you telling me you don’t hear the dogs barking when you look at him?

Not only do I hear the dogs barking, I am one of the dogs. Arf!
In my past life as a paralegal for 20 years, let me tell you the two things I learned: 1) If you want to find the best drugs, find a lawyer, and 2) the legal industry is brimming with out-of-control personalities with serious disorders.
(I hope I haven’t offended any attorneys out there, but you legal eagles know first hand that the profession is full of eccentric judges and law clerks. Judge Sutter comes to mind.)

this administration is leaving a scorched earth legacy that’ll be revealing itself for generations.
    …can’t leave the sc out.
i expect nothing less. (or should that be more?)

  • George Myers, Jr.

Will Iradell Roberts, IV, M.Phil in Archaeology, I have worked for. His father Will I. Roberts, III, has a Ph.D. in the economics of potash. “Mr. Roberts” was a wonderful film, starring James Cagney as the Captain of the WWII supply ship with Henry Fonda as Mr. Roberts, first mate, something my grandfather did too in the Merchant Marines (third mate was at the wheel of the “Exxon Valdez” when it hit the Bligh Reef, Alaska, after cutbacks in crew). Then there’s the Beatles song “Dr. Roberts” which I think was on “Meet the Beatles”. In a parody, by the “Ruggles” I think, it was called “Beat the Meatles”. Also there’s Robert’s Rules of Order? Well, that’s all the Roberts, I got except for maybe Robert Rogers Rangers, which US Army guerilla warfare is still based on (he wanted to find the “Northwest Passage” Spencer Tracy played him in a film of that name).

I’m still convinced she’s his beard and the Bushies have the photos somewhere….

  • http://profile.typekey.com/woodka/ tigger

Oh, and George, don’t forget “Dread Pirate Roberts”…. I guess we know who the next one is, now….

  • but where would I move to?

I haven’t seen these pics from the Roberts family album until now, so my comments are based strictly on your selection and arrangement (I notice they aren’t quite in chrono order; I’m sure for a reason). Is no one else going to address how sexually charged they are? (4th pic down looks like her leg is wrapped around his thigh; I know it’s probably not, but at this size/resolution . . . !) He’s always leaning into her when they aren’t locked in a “I can feel you through my clothes” embrace. They look like they can’t wait to have sex on the Supreme Court steps. Definitely a power trip for both of them, and could they be MORE REPRESSED-LOOKING? Not hardly. Wow. A powder keg.
The middle five are sheer genius: exact same expressions, head tilts, intensity, frowns of concern, moments of mirth. Hilarious . . . and CREEPY! Well done!

  • X

Yup. She’s a beard. Giuliani/Judith Nathan pulled the same crap during the Lewinsky B.S.–when you, as a politico, didn’t want to be seen as an adulterer, prostrate cancer patient Rudy dragged his ‘mistress’ before every camera there was to show he was a straight boy.

  • http://tsuredzuregusa.blogspot.com Shaula Evans

I find it interesting that in all of the photos she is “eclipsed” — as his wife/partner, as an icon for a feminine principal.
