The End Game

Just a couple more weeks, then the only thing we’ll have left to worry about is “who won?”

I’m a system architect who works professionally in computer security and let me tell you, I’d never use any of the current electronic voting systems out there. You get security through redundant cross checks and attention to detail, neither of which has been taken seriously by Diebold. I’d actually worry more about votes lost or changed due to flat out incompetence than fraud.

It seems like it’d be a lot easier and more robust to have the computer print the filled in ballot for you, rather than trying to tabulate them electronically. No more hanging chads but the voter can still (if they want) directly verify that his ballot has his exact vote on it. I suppose that’s not glitzy enough.
