Lead Photo: The Odd Couple

Having been a thorn in Bush’s side for most of the past year, John McCain traveled with “W” this week and even delivered a few speeches that made him sound like Bush’s parrot. Here’s the picture that leads today’s New York Times. The caption is titled: “Joining Forces.” What’s the subtext?

a.) McCain and Bush don’t really belong in the same picture

b. For Bush, it’s all about the photo op

b.) McCain’s just looking for some attention

c.) With Bush, militarism couldn’t be more sexy

d.) These days, Bush needs every prop he can get his hands on
